GTA 6 DualSense pre-orders are live, all the latest stock of your new Vice City controller
GTA 6 DualSense pre-orders have been dropping all day, first with the UK's early launch and then with the US's 10am start time. While the PS Direct-exclusive black model is still a little tricky to get your hands on, the white version appears to be holding its own.
This lighter special edition controller sold out in a couple of hours in the UK, though is still up for grabs at EE at the time of writing. Right now, the US still has a few retailers to choose from as well. While Best Buy has ducked out of the race, Walmart, Amazon, and GameStop are all still fighting fit in this arena.
For quick reference; the black version is exclusive to PS Direct and the white model is being sold by wider retailers. GTA 6 DualSense pre-orders cost $84.99 in the US and £74.99 in the UK.
Both editions will launch alongside the game itself on November 19, so we've only got a couple of months to wait before logging in with a piece of memorabilia in-hand. With these being 'limited' rather than 'special' editions, I'd recommend locking in that GTA 6 DualSense pre-order as soon as possible. While more stock could become available closer to launch, this release is a hype juggernaut and things are already going to be particularly competitive.
This isn't my first time in this situation. I've been tracking tough-to-find pre-orders since those hectic early days of the PS5's launch, covering all major retailers (and many smaller ones in the hopes of finding stock) and learning how they work. That means I know where to look for GTA 6 DualSense pre-orders, and how to prepare to make sure you've got the best chance at success.

Where to pre-order the GTA 6 DualSense in the US
PS Direct | In stock
PS Direct now has the GTA 6 DualSense live and in stock, but make sure you're signed in to get access to this exclusive black version.
Best Buy | Check stock
Best Buy had the white GTA 6 DualSense available for pre-order, delivered "on or shortly after" release date. That listing is now 'coming soon,' though.
GameStop | In stock
And GameStop has GTA 6 DualSense pre-orders alive and ready to go, with arrival on or shortly after launch. There's no special price for Pro members here, though.
Amazon | Check stock
Amazon has been surprisingly punchy for special edition DualSense stock in the past, from Wolverine to Astro Bot. It is, however, sometimes a little late to make its listing viewable from a main search so this one might take some tinkering. Be sure to check the standard DualSense product page for another door.
Walmart | Check stock
Walmart sits towards the bottom of this list. While it can be one of the fastest retailers to offer high profile pre-orders, actually finding those controllers being sold by Walmart can be a little trickier.
Target | Check stock
Target has a GTA 6 DualSense pre-order page up and running, but it seems to already say they're sold out. Either this was a particularly early drop or this is a holding message ahead of 10am.
Where to pre-order the GTA 6 DualSense in the UK
PS Direct | In stock
The black GTA 6 DualSense is now in stock at PS Direct. This is the only retailer stocking the darker version, so competition is going to be much higher here.
Argos | In stock - check postcode
It looks like Argos has taken its GTA 6 DualSense stock live a little early, but it's still worth checking your postcode to make sure you can actually get this white edition to checkout.
Smyths Toys | Check stock
Smyths Toys was one of the first retailers to drop GTA 6 DualSense pre-orders, but it looks like this one's burned out. The controller is unavailable to pre-order for either delivery or collection, but has jumped on and off the shelves a couple of times since it first went on sale.
Currys | Check stock
Currys is also fresh out of GTA 6 DualSense pre-order stock, but this being a larger release than the black model I wouldn't lose hope yet.
Very | Check stock
Very has now run out of GTA 6 DualSense stock in the UK, but considering we've seen second runs from Smyths Toys over the course of the morning I wouldn't give up just yet.
Amazon | Check stock
If other retailers are stocking the white GTA 6 DualSense, Amazon will likely be in amongst them. This was one of the first retailers offering the 007: First Light and Wolverine controllers, and has a solid track record with limited releases like Astro Bot and the 30th Anniversary model as well. Keep an eye on the main DualSense listing as well, sometimes new releases hide in there.
When will GTA 6 DualSense pre-orders be available?
GTA 6 DualSense pre-orders will drop on September 10 at 10am ET / 7am PT in the US, with UK and Europe stores open at 10am local time
What is the GTA 6 DualSense price?
Like many limited editions, the GTA 6 DualSense has a slightly higher price tag than the rest of the controller lineup. We're looking at $84.99 / £74.99 for the black and white versions of the gamepad.
When is the GTA 6 DualSense release date?
Launching alongside the game itself, the limited edition GTA 6 DualSense will officially release on November 19, 2026.
How to prepare for GTA 6 DualSense pre-orders
Preparation is key to sailing through checkout when the heat is on. Thankfully, there are a number of things you can do now that will help you claim your controller when stock eventually lands.
1. Sign into your PlayStation account
Sony often requires its customers to be signed into a PlayStation account to have access to limited stock like this. Make sure you're logged in and that you stay logged in after your session, and be sure to double check shortly before that 10am go-time.
2. Save your payment and shipping details
Nobody wants to be sniped at checkout. When things are moving this fast, your GTA 6 DualSense pre-order isn't yours until you fully complete the order. That means you can get down to the final few clicks and still have your controller appear as out of stock at the end of it. This is a race to order confirmation, not a race to have one in your cart.
By making sure your payment and shipping details are up to date and saved you can sail through the checkout process in as little time as possible, reducing the chance of your gamepad being picked out your cart by a speedier player.
3. Refresh early
When the heat is on, PS Direct often uses a queuing process to keep demand from overwhelming its site. Getting into that queue as early as possible can make all the difference when there are only seconds between you and an 'out of stock' sign. Start regularly refreshing (but not mashing) the site from about half an hour out to make sure you catch the queue up front.

Looks like the Netherlands is getting an early look
No, it's not going to help GTA 6 DualSense pre-order hunters in the US or UK, but the Netherlands might be the location of the first sold limited edition controller. Site Media Markt has the white gamepad already listed at €89.99 and one lucky Redditor has been able to successfully make it through checkout to boot. We'll still have to wait a little longer, though, shipping is restricted.
September 9, 2026 – 10:22 AM
A closer look at that shimmer
The mid-section of the GTA 6 DualSense is potentially the most visually striking difference compared to a generic PS5 controller. The glossy shimmer that wraps around the thumbsticks bares a resemblance to the slightly glittered panels on the sides of the Astro Bot controller. This time, though, we're in full nebula purple with a far more iridescent aesthetic overall. Up against that stark white this is going to look gorgeous on the shelf.
September 9, 2026 – 10:36 AM
Resellers are already listing GTA 6 DualSense pre-orders
The GTA 6 DualSense has already appeared at eBay, despite pre-orders not going live until 10am tomorrow. That's a pretty ballsy move, but you don't need me to tell you not to fall for it. These resellers don't have access to some kind of secret stockpile - they're just hedging their bets that they'll be able to scoop up stock when it does drop. Still, with prices already sitting at three figures it's likely this is going to be a scrappy one.
September 9, 2026 – 10:50 AM
GTA 6 DualSense pre-orders are likely to move fast
Even high profile controllers can sell out as resellers vie to get their hands on stock they can easily mark up. We saw it with the 30th Anniversary release and I expect we'll see it again with GTA 6's limited edition. With hype now reaching a fever pitch ahead of the November 19 release date tomorrow's pre-orders could move incredibly quickly.
September 9, 2026 – 11:08 AM
Looks like those palm fronds are nicely raised
It looks like Sony is adding more of a three dimensional spin to its GTA 6 DualSense, with raised palm fronds splaying out underneath the face buttons and d-pad. At least I hope those are actually etched into the controller and not just a tricksy PR camera angle. It's rare to find an additional grip texture on a special edition DualSense.
September 9, 2026 – 11:45 AM
UK stock hunters keep an eye on Smyths Toys
Assuming this isn't a PS Direct only drop, UK stock hunters would do well to keep an eye on Smyths Toys. The retailer has been a dark horse of late, offering hard-to-find stock well ahead of other sites. While the jury's still out on whether this will be a widespread launch, it's worth keeping this one on the backburner.
September 9, 2026 – 11:58 AM
This is the first official piece of GTA 6 hardware we've seen
Special edition hardware is a little rarer than it used to be in the good old days, but GTA 6 is the biggest launch of the decade. Still there's little by the way of extra accessories or merch taking Rockstar's stamp so far. If you're after a shelf piece this is your first chance at something physical to hold in the hands.
September 9, 2026 – 12:15 PM
It's not all about that front design
There's another detail that those who missed the GTA 6 DualSense trailer might have missed. While the front keeps that 'VI' design in the center of its touchpad, the back stamps the iconic GTA logo in what looks like embossed text.
If you ask me, that's one of the best parts of this design, a subtle addition but seeing that classic font back in action is particularly comforting.
September 9, 2026 – 12:29 PM
Watch out for retailers hiding special editions next to regular controllers
Amazon is one to watch for this in particular. If you take a look through each retailer's search pages you'll notice only some of them list special edition controllers separately from the standard DualSense. That's because some stores group their stock - you'll need to click on any old DualSense and you'll find special editions listed as another menu from there. Walmart and Best Buy typically keep their editions separate, while Amazon and PS Direct group them together.
September 9, 2026 – 12:45 PM
If this image is real, even the packaging looks pretty slick
PlayStation might have been dividing fans over the last few months, but appreciation for the GTA 6 DualSense design seems to be pretty unanimous. Now an image of the box seems to be doing the rounds, and it's picking up just as much love. If true, this isn't just a white design with a GTA stamp in the corner, that sunset pink has been extended across the box with GTA 6's dreamy palm tree motifs running throughout. Think about who you're asking to ship your controller, because denting these corners would be a travesty.

Note that "limited" edition flag
Themed DualSense controllers come in two flavors; limited and special editions. The latter is far more widely available, it will likely have multiple manufacture runs with more stock available to throw towards other retailers. These are the gamepads we still see on the shelves, months (sometimes years) after their initial release window.
The GTA 6 DualSense is a limited edition. That means Sony isn't producing these indefinitely. While it remains to be seen if more are manufactured after the initial batch sells out, it's far less likely in this scenario. It's worth noting, however, that both the Astro Bot and 30th Anniversary 'limited' edition DualSenses had at least a couple of stock runs before fully selling out.

PSA: Get all your information saved at retailers now
One thing you can do tonight to prepare for tomorrow's GTA 6 DualSense pre-orders is save your payment and delivery information at each retailer you plan to stock hunt with. Every second counts at checkout, so anything you can do to speed up the process is going to come in handy when the pressure is on. Be sure to also sign into your PS Direct and other retailer accounts, and stay signed in ahead of 10am tomorrow.

UK GTA 6 DualSense pre-order hunters, this is your 1 hour alarm
GTA 6 DualSense pre-orders will be live in the UK in less than one hour, so it's time to sign into your accounts, load up those retailer pages and get ready to move fast.
September 10, 2026 – 4:27 AM
Who will jump first?
As we get ready to launch in the UK, I've got all my retailer checks open and ready to go. If it were my pre-order though? Aside from PS Direct I'd also be checking Smyths Toys and Very. Both retailers have been right on time with previous high-profile stock drops and their sites typically keep their cool compared to the rest of the web.
September 10, 2026 – 4:30 AM
Argos and Smyths Toys are go
Argos and Smyths Toys both have GTA 6 DualSense pre-orders live on the shelves right now, jumping well ahead of the 10am start time.
Argos: £74.99
Smyths Toys: £74.99
September 10, 2026 – 4:33 AM
Very's holding onto its stock
Very seems to be holding onto its GTA 6 DualSense pre-orders a little easier than others this morning. The £74.99 controller is still firmly in place on the shelves - I can add it to the basket and get through to the final stages of checkout.
Very | £74.99 - in stock
September 10, 2026 – 4:37 AM
Curry's still standing as well
Currys has also dropped GTA 6 DualSense pre-orders this morning, and stock is still holding out on the site. You're looking at free release day delivery here to boot. Just note you won't be able to collect this one in-store.
Currys | In stock - £74.99
September 10, 2026 – 4:49 AM
No sign of Amazon, but this is where I'd check first
Amazon seems to be sitting this one out, at least for now. With other retailers live and rumbling away, the online giant doesn't even have a sniff of GTA 6 on its site. I'd keep a close eye on that regular DualSense listing, though. The brand doesn't differentiate its limited editions too well from a search, so today's star could pop up as an option on here.

It's time to get signed into PS Direct
We're now just five minutes away from PS Direct's own drop. This will be the only retailer stocking the black version of the GTA 6 DualSense, so it's going to move fast. Make sure you're signed in with your PlayStation account and all your payment and delivery information is saved and ready to go.
September 10, 2026 – 5:04 AM
PS Direct should be live
The black version of the GTA 6 DualSense should now be up for grabs at PS Direct, and this being an exclusive drop at Sony's own site things could well move fast. There's no sign of the new gamepad for now, but keep checking across the site - it'll pop up sooner rather than later. Then it's just a case of getting through checkout as quickly as possible.
September 10, 2026 – 5:16 AM
Still nothing from Sony
I'm keeping that refresh button warm but I'm still not seeing any movement from PS Direct. We're now 15 minutes out from go-time and nada. This is one to watch, though, those gamepads could drop at any time and there will likely be a queue system in place when they do. Patience is the key here.
September 10, 2026 – 5:29 AM
No need to wait if you're after the white model
Of course, if you're more interested in the white GTA 6 DualSense there's no need to wait on PS Direct. The gamepad is still readily available at both Currys and Very (and Argos, but you'll need to check your postcode for regional stock). It's only the black version that's exclusive to Sony, this lighter model is fair game.

Over an hour to queue
After mashing that refresh button I've finally been put in the queue, but this is going to be a long morning. We're now over an hour away from being let into the store, but if anything it means stock is definitely up for the taking. Whether it will still be there by midday is another matter. Hopefully Sony's exaggerating its wait times.
Black GTA 6 DualSense pre-order: Queue at PS Direct
Luckily, this update brings some good news. GamesRadar+'s own Iain Wilson has managed to break through and controllers are still up for grabs.
September 10, 2026 – 6:14 AM
Now that's a plot twist
PS Direct seems to have sold out of the white GTA 6 DualSense. That's the one available at a bunch of other retailers (and still in stock at Currys and Very). The black exclusive controller? That's still up on Sony's shelves.
We're now seeing 'Currently Unavailable' next to the white version on PS Direct's own site.
September 10, 2026 – 6:47 AM
I'm expecting GTA 6 DualSense pre-orders to drop early in the US as well
It's still early morning in the US, but considering pre-orders for the white version of GTA 6's special edition DualSense dropped roughly two hours before that 10am go-time, it's worth getting prepared early. Wider retailers could start listing the lighter model from around 8am ET - and that's less than two hours away.
September 10, 2026 – 7:03 AM
We've lost Currys and Very
After holding onto stock all morning, Currys and Very have fallen. The gamepad is now showing as out of stock on the main landing page across both sites, but considering we saw a quick resurgence in availability at Smyths Toys earlier in the day I wouldn't give up hope just yet.
September 10, 2026 – 7:22 AM
In fact, Target is stressing me out at the moment
Target already has its GTA 6 DualSense pre-order page up and running, but there's one line of text that has me worried. The site says its stock of the white controller is already sold out, and it's been saying that since earlier this morning. This could be a placeholder while the scene is set backstage, but it's still worth keeping a close eye on.

Another reminder to sign into your PS Direct account
After the UK's stock drops this morning, we now know that you will definitely need to be signed into PS Direct with your PlayStation account to pre-order the special edition controllers. If not, you'll be taken straight to the sign in screen after adding to cart - losing precious seconds when the heat is on. Sign into your account now, and make sure your payment and shipping details are all saved and ready to go.
September 10, 2026 – 8:01 AM
Another thing we learned from the UK launch
That gorgeous controller packaging is the real deal. The GTA 6 DualSense will come boxed up in a matching purple and orange sunset package. With the VI icon stamped across the entire splash, and those palm fronds making another appearance, this one's a shelf keeper. Just hope your shipping company treats it with the care it deserves.
September 10, 2026 – 8:22 AM
We could start seeing white controllers in the US soon
Earlier this morning, GTA 6 DualSense pre-orders took to the shelves approximately two hours ahead of that 10am start time in the UK, so I'd recommend getting that stock hunt going as soon as possible. It looks like wider retailers don't have to stick to Sony's rules this time around, so start rolling through those stores fairly regularly.
I've had a run through of all the usual suspects and nothing so far, but these could drop at any moment now.
September 10, 2026 – 8:40 AM
Hopefully stock holds out in the US as well
UK retailers managed to hold onto their stock for a little longer than I expected earlier this morning. While they're all sold out now we were rolling for more than two hours with access to the white version. Whether stores have a larger inventory than we might give them credit for, or whether demand was lower than expected, there's certainly reason to hope these won't exactly be swept off the shelves in the US.
September 10, 2026 – 9:00 AM
We've now got one hour to go until GTA 6 DualSense pre-orders drop in the US
At least, that's going by Sony's timeline. I've been cycling through those links all morning but I'm not seeing any early signs of the white version just yet. At least we know we'll be diving into PS Direct's stock within the hour.
Right now, the best thing you can do is make sure you're signed into PS Direct with your PlayStation account, and that your payment and shipping details are up to date. The same can be said for any other retailer you're hoping to pre-order a white model with as well.
After that, keeping checking through Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, and Target for a shot at an early order.
September 10, 2026 – 9:18 AM
EE is go
EE is swooping in right at the last minute since the white GTA 6 DualSense sold out. You'll find it live and on the shelves here, with free delivery "expected" on launch day.

The PS Direct waiting room is open
It looks like the queue waiting room is already up and running for GTA 6 DualSense pre-orders in the US. That's the first sign of movement I've seen so far, so be sure to get your place in line as quickly as possible.

Here's the deal with the PS Direct waiting room
The line is paused right now, but you'll still want to make sure you're in there as early as possible to be in with a chance at an early spot in the line. As soon as we start making progress on that line I'll be sure to let you know.
September 10, 2026 – 9:46 AM
PS Direct is alive
PS Direct is up and running with both the black and white listing pages for GTA 6 DualSense controllers live and on the site. They're currently unavailable, but this is where you'll need to be camping when the clock strikes.

5 minutes to go!
We've got 5 minutes to go until that 10am start time in the US, so be sure to get your spot on those listing pages and make sure you're signed in with your PlayStation account. Save those shipping and payment details to get through checkout as soon as possible, and don't sleep on other retailers for a shot at the white version.
September 10, 2026 – 10:03 AM
PS Direct is go!
On that last refresh I've managed to snag a pre-order button for the black GTA 6 DualSense at PS Direct. That means it's officially go-time.

Remember you'll need to be signed into your PlayStation account to buy
If you're not already signed in, I've got some bad news. After seeing GTA 6 DualSense pre-orders go live, I signed out of my account to see how the system handles things. I've got a shiny new 'sign in to buy' button, but it looks like Sony's having some trouble with everyone signing in at the same time. I'm getting a lot of server error messages when I try to sign back in, with zero attempts working so far.

And there's Best Buy
And Best Buy has the white GTA 6 DualSense live and on the shelves as well. Everything's going according to plan!

Well that waiting room went fast
On my last refresh of PS Direct, I was put in a waiting room. Heart sinking. Screaming. Crying.
Thankfully, that loading bar sailed to the end as soon as I was redirected and I was routed through to the product page and a lovely looking pre-order button in just a few seconds. That's not to say things aren't going to slow down here, though, so get in there as soon as you can.

GameStop is in action as well
GameStop has also jumped into action, with the white edition now up for grabs with delivery "on or shortly after" release day. That's not going to satisfy day-oners but if you're concerned about stock levels it's well worth jumping on.

Walmart starting to struggle
There isn't actually any GTA 6 DualSense stock at Walmart just yet, but the site is starting to struggle under the weight of demand. Thankfully, Best Buy and GameStop are both still holding out strong with their own supplies.
September 10, 2026 – 10:40 AM
Walmart is up and running
Walmart is also good to go, taking a little longer than Best Buy and GameStop to get its affairs in order. You'll find the white DualSense here for $84.88, sold and shipped by the retailer itself.

September 10, 2026 – 10:50 AM
We've lost Best Buy
Best Buy is now stating that the GTA 6 DualSense is "coming soon", but I wouldn't give up hope yet. Like many sites, this retailer can put a pause on its pre-orders if its site is about to become overwhelmed, once things settle down it's possible we could see business resume here.
September 10, 2026 – 10:59 AM
Walmart and GameStop still looking strong
Walmart and GameStop are both still holding onto their GTA 6 DualSense stock, even after Best Buy has seemingly folded. PS Direct is still also in action, but there's a wait time of around 20 minutes (as I'm seeing it) to get onto the page right now.

And Amazon is, nowhere
Amazon hasn't had a single horse in this race all day. Not in the UK or in the US. That means one of two things. Either the online giant wasn't invited to the party or its stock will drop later on in the day. Both of those eventualities are little odd, but if you find yourself without a controller on the shelves, it's worth keeping a close eye here.
September 10, 2026 – 11:25 AM
And as if by magic
There's Amazon!
The white version is now available with free delivery at Amazon itself, nothing like waiting until the last moment!

Stock is definitely holding out better than expected
The GTA 6 DualSense is still hanging in there at Amazon, GameStop, and Walmart - which isn't a sentence I thought I'd be saying at this point in the day. The black version is another story, but from the looks of it PS Direct is still trucking on with its queue system and many are still finding success as well.
