PlayStation Wants You to Take One Last Los Santos Run Before GTA 6

PlayStation wants you to say goodbye to Los Santos before you move to Vice City. In a new promo, the company reminds PlayStation Plus players that Grand Theft Auto V leaves the PS Plus Extra and Premium Game Catalog on November 17, two days before Grand Theft Auto VI arrives on PS5 on November 19. The message is a soft nudge, one last run as Franklin, Michael and Trevor before Jason and Lucia take over.

In case it isn't clear yet, this is the subscription catalog. Extra and Premium members lose their included access to GTA V after November 17, but the game stays on sale, so anyone who owns a copy or buys one keeps playing. This happens all the time. It's just a much bigger deal than most titles because this is Grand Theft Auto we're talking about and the latest game leaves just right before the sequel comes out.

PlayStation is intentionally closing the book on the second-best-selling video game of all time right as it opens the most hyped game of the current generation. It pitches the handoff as a story baton passing from one trio to a new pair.

There is still time for a proper farewell. If you never finished the story, our heists guide walks you through the big scores. Our full cheats list is there if you would rather spawn a tank and cause chaos one more time. For a nostalgia hit, the three leads recently reunited for one final mission and shared their dream GTA 6 DLC ideas. Even Trevor's actor Steven Ogg started playing GTA V for the first time, 13 years after voicing him. On the sequel side, we are still sorting fact from rumor, like why a GameStop sign is not proof of a collector's map.

Whether you want to finish Michael's story, chase the last few collectibles or just drive down Vinewood one more time, the window closes on November 17.

After that, Los Santos sits behind a paywall or a purchase. All eyes turn to Leonida on November 19.
